Hate to admit, but in my restaurant days I hired cute girls for counter help because they'd draw more traffic (seriously, the company had charts and graphs to back this up and amazingly never got sued for it). Yet the most effective cashier I ever hired was a mousy looking paraplegic girl who could run everyone else into the ground and she did so with leg braces on. Add to that my best dining room attendant was mentally retarded.

If I'd hewn to the company line and only hired pretty people I'd have missed out on these folks and they would have unfairly missed a job opportunity.

It is no hard and fast rule, but "beautiful" people would, have, as a class, somewhat superior intelligence and skills.

What?

That whole phrase, all looks and no brain? Its not just a stereotype. Those "beautiful" people like Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Britney Spears are smart? Really? I somehow don´t see that but as the other phrase goes, its all in the eye of the beholder.


"beautiful" A class? Its a random physical trait not an accomplishment.

The sad part for me was that I was like 28 before I figured out that beautiful girls put out more too. If there is one lesson I hope to teach my son it's that it is actually easier to pick up good-looking girls than others. Still, scine my son is going to be the first quantum engineer--rock star playing in the NHL, I don't imagine he'll have too much problems.
