I enjoy playing smartass. And pointing out that yes, every American president sucks up to the Saudis,

Good, nice to see you're not completely foolish.

Now lets see you admit that the Bush's connection goes above and beyond and there's something rotten there.

Ah the beauty of selective amensia. I guess you forget how Dubya was the president who began restoring relations with Qadaffi?

Of course I remember. In 2003, GWB was the current president, so getting cozy with brutal leaders was his job. Now it's Obama's job, and by 2017 at the latest, it will be someone else's job.

This is a hostile act. I would not blame the Israelis for taking action against this jerk.

Because you gave a wiki summary of a documentary, and an article based on that documentary...when this has nothing to do with the Bush family at all?

Yeah. Nice try. Maybe another day when I care.

Zipperfish Zipperfish:
I've timed it, Beav--for your average member of the rabid right, the memory is about four months.

Based on this, I guess I'll have to revise that estimate to four hours.

CommanderKai CommanderKai:
That's right, because, uh, only Republicans suck up to tyrants and dictators, right?

I'm sure I could find a picture of Obama being all ass kissing to a Saudi or two, don't you think?

Oh please Zip. For one thing, your definition of "rabid right" is just about anybody who disagrees with you politically.

Second, what's the point? Nobody ever denied that Libyan relations were normalized under Bush 43 (let alone that it matters, at all), and they were destroyed during the Reagan era. I didn't realize the political reality of how current, sitting Presidents need to go through the motions with tyrants and dictators is somehow some groundbreaking revelation.

No, my definition of the rabid right is the radical reactionary right as epitomized by the Glenn Becks and Rush Limbaughs of the world. If you were to put those two, for example, on a left-right scale you'd see they'd be very far to the right, given that the US is probably the most right-wing country, the Republicans have been undergoing a strong shift to the right, and Mssrs Limbaugh and Beck are a little right of them.

And my point is you proived the "reactionary" part by going after Beaver Fever when he mentions Dubya's forays with various tyrants, and stating:

$1:
That's right, because, uh, only Republicans suck up to tyrants and dictators, right?

when only four hours earlier someone postd a picture of Obama shaking hands with Kadaffi.

Going off with no sense of conetxt. That's my point.
