I'd miss it, still a great show. Still, people who make 8 million for 22weeks work barking about wanting more money has no sympathy from me.

Tom Hanks put it best when he said he felt guilty about the amount of money he made for doing essentially nothing, but said what am I supposed to do, take less pay so the likes of Rupert Murdoch could make even more?

Corporations are suppose to make money, that's what they do. Otherwise they couldn't be-able to hire the likes of Simpsons Voice Actors or spend the money to budget it's existance.

This show is being threatened to close simply because this is not the first time the voice actors have demanded more money for there work and is infact a continous thing. As I said, people who make 8 million for 22weeks of work barking for more money deserves no sympathy from me.

Oh, please kill this show FOX, you can kill Family Guy too. Take them off syndication and blow up the masters so no one will ever be forced to watch that SHITE again.

Bah I have stopped watching the show many moons ago, I wont miss it if it gets cancelled.

Ditto. I think I tuned out around the time Ned's wife was 'killed'.

Definitely the jump the shark moment. I'd say time for the show to die but:

a) Money talks;
b) Fox may replace it with something worse

Who cares? I don't watch it now. I won't watch the crap they replace it with even harder.

I gave up on Fox when they cancelled all the good sci-fi and replaced them with . . .I don't know cause I stopped watching them. But it wasn't with good sci-fi. Although, 'Archer' rocks.

$8 million dollars a year makes them some of the highest paid actors on television.

This would be a stupid way to end the series. It's a TV institution at this point.

$1:
The actors are willing to take a pay cut of roughly a third, but that’s not good enough for Fox.”

Derp.

"The actors, who currently earn a comfy $8 million for their 22 or so annual weeks of work, proposed a slightly smaller cut in exchange for a small percentage of the show’s back-end profits — “amounting to untold billions” between syndication and merchandising, Grove reports. "

Double derp? There only comfortable with that paycheck because they were asking for the back-end profits from all the merchandising.

"small percentage" We'd be talking like .02 percent. Sounds reasonable to me.

Reminds me of Family Guy. FOX screwed that one up, too.

Yeah, but Family guy was shit from it's beginning, and continued being shit that sadly expanded to three different shit shows.

The Simpsons is one of the greatest shows on television. It still produces some great episodes, even if they probably will never achieve the pure greatness of their first few seasons. Having the show die over something like this would probably damage an American cultural institution.

You know it's .02 for certon do you? Small percentage is more like 1-3. With a billions of dollars worth of venue. That's still a lot of money. Either way they'd be the highest paid voice actors on TV.

I agree, when I first saw family guy it was maybe half funny for like a couple episodes than just got completely stupid and annoying. Simpsons is like South Park, one of the few shows that can go on forever and still make quality episodes almost like they were fresh from the first seasons.

They offered $8M/yr, they paid $8M/yr, and now the actors should take a 45% pay cut?

Would YOU (in general) take a 45% pay cut?? Why should they??

It is one of the best earning shows too, so why wouldn't they pay their voice actors a lot?
Just because it is more than you or I make in our life time (just assuming here ) doesn't mean they can't. If you are bitching about the fact they make $8M/yr and not even work 6 months out of that year, you should have been bitching years ago.

No one would accept a 45% pay cut.

No I don't know for certain. But judging from how these types of bonuses work in normal corporations, they don't generally give out 1-3 percent of profits. They give out, like I said, a fraction of a percent. Somehow I doubt FOX is different than multi-million dollar businesses.

But hey you know more than I do.
