Her PERSONAL email was hacked by her HUSBAND.
I dunno, but if that makes the news, then I guess we have 35million more email addresses in the news very soon.

The moment anyone can show me he or she leaked sensitive info, it may be news worthy. For now, it's just a man and a woman sending "flirtatious" emails to one another.

The only one allowed to bitch, are the people involved, and the only one he owes an apology to is his wife. If she cares.

Curtman Curtman:
Brenda Brenda:
Slow news day?

$1:
Mr. Dechert is parliamentary secretary to Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird.
...
“You are so beautiful. I really like the picture of you by the water with your cheeks puffed. That look is so cute, I love it when you do that. Now, I miss you even more.”
...
“Dearest Rong,” the note began. “How is your day? Did your interviews at Royal Bank go well? Did you get enough information for your articles?”
...
Canadian Security Intelligence Service head Richard Fadden suggested during a TV interview in June, 2010, that two provincial cabinet ministers and a number of other government officials and employees were under the control of foreign countries as part of espionage schemes.

You don't think its newsworthy?

I don't care about peoples personal lives. As long as they can separate business from pleasure, then no, I do not give a crap and I think this is a waste of paper, bandwidth and my time, actually.

Not really defending here, just saying that it's too early to judge and jump to conclusions.

That and mocking the partisan hacks that come out of the woodwork.

Macguyver Macguyver:
What probably happened was that they threatened to turn over the emails that he sent to that reporter if he did not give them the information they wanted. Thank god he chose to be publically humiliated. Lots of people would allow themselves to be blackmailed.

Although I don't believe any politician would choose to be publically humiliated over handing over government secrets, if this is true, Bob Dechert is the kind of politician we sould have more of in government. PDT_Armataz_01_34

Well, with some experience in the system, albeit after the fact,
chances are pretty strong she ' talks to people about stuff,
and writes stuff '.

She wouldn't have the job otherwise.
State controlled in China means something.

However, steamy emails aren't state secrets.

I'm just having fits thinking about Shep having a hot email exchange with a Chinese
girl. " roun eye " takes a very different meaning ROTFL

I don't care who this guy is or what party he belongs to. He is a high ranking elected official and married. Having a person like that in a compromising position is NOT GOOD BUSINESS.

Partisan folk might dismiss this mess as nothing more than flirting. Let me guarantee you that this is not a small issue.

Do you trust a man who is willing to cheat on his wife with top secret material vital to the operation and productivity of our entire country?

Thousands of secrets and billions of dollars have been lost because of activity like this. Are you guys saying you trust the Chinese not to be spying on us?

4 groups never to trust when it comes to espionage in the order of their capabilities, allies or not:
1) USA
2) China
3) Israel
4) Russia

Wake up folks this is basic security, as simple and basic as putting a password on your computer and having an anti-virus program running. There is no sense doing any of that if you are going to invite the enemy into your home and let him use your computer.

ROTFL -- the lie of the week; I seriously doubt you will show this much outrage

when the Libs or Dippers will get caught doing it.

And please show what state secrets are in the emails, or just STFU about it.

Horny White Man chasing Little China Girl ain't a secret.

Fact, or opinion?

You accuse me of being partisan?

What he does in his bedroom is none of my (or your) business.

Don't make up shit and present it as facts.

By him and this journalist personally? Prove it.

What would that have to do with his emails to her? I'm sure that if that was the case, it would not be in her private email.

Flirting by email is embarassing, but not compromising.

It's the partisan folk who are jumping to enormous conclusions. I'm curious how you plan to guarentee to me that this is no small issue?

Macguyver Macguyver:

Flirting by email is not cheating by any stretch of the imagination save for the most extreme of prudes and partisan hacks.

Macguyver Macguyver:

Nope, but I'll wait until someone has proof that she's an agent before knee jerking around the net.
