Maybe they should worry more about the failing infrastructure in Quebec than the bloody signs!! But they'll just blame anglo-Canada for all their problems again.

I'd love to see the federal govt tell them to go fuck their hats the next time the province comes crying and whining like they ALWAYS do demanding some other bullshit thing because the Anglo's are picking on them.

BartSimpson BartSimpson:
Le fascisme.

There's a new political movement that should become a political party next election. Since people are bored of old politicians (see, last federal election in Quebec), according to the poll, the non-yet-party would get 40-45% of the vote. The "program" is filled with a strong State, corporatism (the state working with the private sector hand in hand) and more strict language laws using the non-withstanding clause of the Constitution (suspension of the Charter of Rights) and promotion of the Quebec culture.

Now talk about fascism. 8O

What a pain in the ass province! Instead of the Russians taking away your Arctic mineral and passage rights why not give them Quebec instead?

I think the Conservatives proved you can win a majority without winning Quebec, so I think they can safely tell them to go pound sand.

I don't mean to encourage Quebec bashing or Francophone bashing. This comes with many decades of brainwashing. A survey done by an organisation I was involved with conducted a survey in 1978 of the West Island of Montreal.

There were approximately 1,000,000 Anglophones and 900,000 Francophones living in that area at that time.

I don't recall the exact figures but, either 73% or 79% of Francophones opposed the language laws. It is probably less than that now as a new generation has grown up with them and has been fed the propaganda that it is necessary for survival.

However, these laws are immoral and illegal and they should be swept away. Canadian Courts have adopted a cowardly political strategy in ruling them to be Constitutional. They do so because political leaders, federal and provincial have, from the beginnning, tried to keep the lid on Sovereigntist activity by sacrificing the Anglophone community.

They are not constitutional. We use the notwithstanding clause to bypass the constitution to apply them.

Actually, most of Bill 101 has been found Constitutional by the SCC. The use of the "Notwithstanding Clause" has been limited to certain provisions that the Court did say were not Constitutional.

We could discuss this further if you want since I was involved in the legal challenges to Bill 101. And more!
