Thats must be some real shit quality or repair job instead of the heat. It is much much hotter here for months on end and not just a few days or weeks of hotish temps and never seen that happen even in the desert where it is not uncommon to hit 50+ or abandoned cars parked in the sun for ages.
Yer obviously not the least bit familiar with Southwestern Ontario summers.
It didn't get hot for a few days or weeks, it was fucking hot and VERY humid for months, with an occasional break in the humidity once in a while.
I don't recall seeing temps of 50C but there were many summers(April to late Sept/early Oct) where temps hung out around 40C with humidity levels at a minimum of 80%. It wasn't just the heat that was responsible, it was heat in conjunction with very high humidity.
To put things in a bit of perspective, when I moved to Winnipeg, the first summer I was there they had a heat wave with temps in the 40-45C range. Humidity was only 60% though. However, the residents of Winnipeg weren't used to that kind of heat combined with "high" humidity levels. When someone asked me how I could be so active with the humidex so high, I responded, "Lady, where I come from, when the humidity drops to 60%, we get on our knees and thank God for giving us nice, dry air to breathe.
