Precisely. The Iranian womens team quietly protested a ruling and paid for it dearly. That's precise. The rest of the commentary is simply Muslim bashing as per usual.

There is headgear for these women. They (or their coach, or whomever) decided they didn't want to wear that. That is their choice. I am sure the FIFA wouldn't let me play in a garter belt and a bra alone. And high heels. Should I bitch too?

FIFA's full of a bunch of old men. I'm sure they'd love watching women play in that kit. :)

Why ask me? I'm not your boss. With what I know of FIFA, if they thought they could make a buck off you playing in your underwear I'm sure they'd look into it. [B-o]

How the hell do you play soccer in the Muslim version of a hoody anyway? Their brains must bake playing soccer in hot climates.

They've become inured to it. If some women can walk around in a black tent in 50 deg heat, they've obviously toughened up to it. I've never been over there, but I always wonder if they have extra strong deodorant there, or just walk around stinking.

As a general rule, Dutch girls should be allowed to dress as scantily as they want in any situation. [drool]

$1:
Jordan team officials also objected to the hijab rule before the game, but prepared to play by declining to select women who objected on religious grounds.

I thought the hijab had nothing to do with religion but was traditional garb.

A little back peddle there Bart as usual when called on your BS facts. A few does not mean all, and there is no ruling anywhere about bra's ?

In your first post you write it as if it is a regular occurance and that is the job of those morons and women arn't allowed to wear underwear. Both of which are blatant lies.

And I don't know what "market places" you've visted but I have lived 35 years in the middle east and yet to see a burqa wearing woman pass out. So most probably another made up story on your part or at the very best some rare occurance which you pass it off as "not at all unusual" when it is very unusual.

But ofcourse you plant such disinformation every now and then pass it off fact without being challenged because many don't know any better.

And if your LAV's are quipped with shit A/C's that can't cool for fuck, thats no ones problem either. I've been out in the desert mid day middle of summer, with outside temps reading 57 C while the interior is a cooling 15 C.

It's a shame these womwn are getting caught in this pissing contest between Iran and the FIFA.

Iran lost, but it wanted to foe internal political reasons.

This is what the Iranians designed for their girls that was approved by FIFA in 2010, and what the same Iranians refused to let the women wear:

I am just sayin'...

Sorry you can't handle the fact that nasty little stories about your fellow believers make it into the free media. Like it or not, the idiots who enforce religious rules around your neighborhood are little tyrants and were it up to me I'd have every last one of them executed.

The matter of the a/c in the LAV's is that the newer ones do just fine but the one I had was older and it was designed for European deployment and not the sandbox.

As to seeing women pass out in the heat, like I said it was 52C that day!

Maybe they'd have passed out anyway, but wearing a stifling black garbage bag in heat sufficient to melt asphalt is idiocy. And making women have to cover themselves head-to-toe because Muslim men are incapable of controlling themselves at the sight of *gasp!* a bare ankle is just another idiocy.

I don't see how head scarves would interfere that much. On the other hand, I don't see why anyone should have to change the rules of the world's most popular game to suit a religion.

I feel bad for the players. It looks like they were used as pawns in this fiasco, and their dreams of playing at the Olympics are dead.
