Saffron Saffron:
What’s wrong with having faith? Where’s the harm in being religious? Why are atheists so mean as to question and criticize “deeply held religious beliefs”?
Well for starters, we're always told how we should live our lives, government & laws are always challenged (ie: same sex marriage, abortions, etc.) based not on facts and studies, but by religious dictations & what "God says so".... and many try to force their way of life on the rest of us, regardless if we want it or not.
I don't have any issue with people having faith or believing in any particular religion, so long as you don't try and shove it in my life and try & interfere in my personal business.
Telling us every 5-10 years that the world is going to end and that the rest of us are going to hell or going to suffer horrible fates gets really annoying and after a while.... yes, I'd expect I'd get a little mean too.
Nothing else seems to shut these people up.
Believe what you wish to believe and I will believe what I want to. I'm not telling you that you shouldn't believe in a God or pray every single day and I'm not shoving my beliefs on a big highway billboard for all to see or knocking door to door to pimp out my beliefs..... so why should these people?

Things like this:
A woman slit her daughters’ throats before slitting her own early Friday evening, claiming that “the Tribulation” was going to occur and she wanted to prevent them from suffering through it, officials said.
Lyn Benedetto, 47, reportedly told her daughters to lie on a bed and proceeded to take a knife to their throats.
…..
The victims were treated at Antelope Valley Hospital for moderate though non life-threatening injuries and released to custody of Department of Children’s Services.
http://gaytheistagenda.lavenderliberal. ... d-rapture/A good example indeed..... you could also point out those who bomb abortion clinics or shoot the doctors, or beat up homosexuals because they think they're doing something good for their God.... or those who suicide bomb compounds & markets because Allah wants them to.
Religion is based on fear & control. Fear of God's Wrath, Fear of your Community, Fear of your Family's judgement, Fear of Sin, Fear of Hell, Fear of the Rapture, Fear of the end of the world, Fear of the other Religions who are Fearfull of Yours.
All that is needed in the world is for people to do unto others as you'd have them do unto you..... you can be religious, atheist or whatever to believe this line of thinking and so long as you treat everybody else equally as you'd want to be treated, then the world would be a better place.
Unfortunately, many religions and many people of those religions seem to think everybody else is below them, they're not as good and they need their interference in other's lives & told what to do in order to "Save Them"
Brenda Brenda:
What does that have to do with Atheists??
This woman clearly has a mental problem, regardless if she is religious or not, and regardless if I am religious or not.
She obviously believed the end of the world was coming and that she & her family were not worthy of being saved, so there was some level of religious belief on her part.
Crazy people who are not religious have a harder time defending their actions then Religious Crazy people who can claim God made them do it or justify their actions based on their Religion.

This is why basing your Life on Faith is Fail. Anyone can be 100% Certain about Anything, when Faith is involved. Being Convinced is Meaningless.
Oh please, try basing your life on reality then.. just make sure you pick who's reality it's going to be before you place your bets.
Glad that rapture predictions not only attract the retarded believers but the retarded unbelievers as well to even out the arguments.
The difference is that the "Retarded Non-Believers" were right and the "Retarded Believers" were just Retarded.
