As far as I'm concerned, when it's the last team from a Canadian city, I will be cheering them on. I don't want the cup to head south again.

If the Canucks are Canada's team, how embarrassing would it be if they lost to Nashville? I don't think the Predators are even Nashville's team.

They're not, but the people there are starting to catch on to the game I think.
I sure don't begrudge Nashville having a team as long as the fan base is there and the team can support itself. The last 3 years show them with an average attendance of around 16,000 per game, which puts them at 93.5% of capacity. That's pretty good for a city with zero hockey history and other pro and college teams to compete with.

I have NO idea how or why the Islanders still have a team with a 61% of capacity average over the last 3 years. And it was falling steadily before that.
I mean shit, that's even worse than Phoenix. 8O

The only reason I dont like the Canucks is because for the 15 years I lived on the coast they were the most ignorant bunch I'd ever met. As for Ryan Kesler their so called leading scorer, he is a tool who cross checks goal tenders in the back of the head when they are down...fack him and fack the Nucks...just my two cents

Not that the Nucks are a bad hockey team, in fact they are quite skilled but the ego on that team is just a turn off for me and will never be Canada's Team, if they had some humility they would be a lot easier to cheer for.

I expect this kind of insecurity from a Calgary paper, but not from Edmonton.

$1:
New assignment: Why aren't the Vancouver Canucks Canada's Team?

I think the the name of the team ("Vancouver" Canucks, not "Canada" Canucks) should be your first clue. Yeah, we bitch about the league, the officiating, the other team playing dirty, yadda yadda yadda. I've lived in a lot of Candian cities and believe me, it's not like when I lived in Winnipeg everyone would be going "Well I think that was an excellent and courageous call by the ref" when Winnipeg got a penalty.

Ingrate.
Do you know any other team that constantly seems to give the other a chance to beat them?
Handed Chicago 3 in a row, let in every fluke to keep the Preds in it and the Sedins have been on vacation for two series.
AND WE STILL WON!!! :P

No...the ref was put into protective custody and given an armed escort.
