There are a few Harrisites, most notably Clement, Flaherty and Fantino, but there are a lot of good, sane people in the mix in Ontario too. Incumbents like Michael Chong, Barry Devolin, Dave Tilson and Jeff Watson are middle of the road guys who have opposed Harper on many issues in the past. Of NEW CPC representatives, there are lots of good people who aren't Reformacon-types, such as Chris Alexander, Prita Lamba, Joe Oliver, Marty Burke and Kellie Leitch.

I do see andy's point though in that at times a gadfly can keep a group of people honest avoid stagnation when they embarrass people who need to be embarrassed.

Not a huge fan of May or Green politics but a lot of people are and a bit of diversity in parliament is a good thing. It’s a voice that should be heard. Nutty or not.

On that note, I think we have two real and clear choices now with an NDP opposition. Left of centre or right of centre. It’s a good thing. Congrats to the NDP, politics just got a lot more interesting.

No, I'm glad Harper won because he'll be good for Canada. The bonus is hearing how a number of leftists are acting like this is the start of a right wing dictatorship. So yes, I am gloating, much like how the Liberals or NDPers on this site would gloat if Harper did not achieve minority status.

But yes, I am going to enjoy the silly fearmongering that will be done. If they're miserable because they're believing the fearmongering bullshit, then why not enjoy it? If people kept talking about Harper and the CPC as the anti-Christ, or as dictators, then yes, I will happily enjoy the rise of Harper and the CPC as the majority in Parliament. Even more so when the fearmongering will be shown as the bullshit that it is.

Edit: I'm also enjoying the fall of the Bloc too, even though no doubt there are many miserable separatists.
