but coffee keeps me going!

No, it keeps you being coffee junkie.

People run on coffee for a 9-5 job, being a student frequently results in no sleep, coffee keeps most of us alive.

Instead of squeezing us out of being able to afford coffee, how about lowering tuition to a level that won't have us working it off for 40 years.

There are few kinds of tea, compare to it, coffee is cup of water in the morning.

Make coffee at home and bring it to school. Cut back on the $3.00 Starbucks.

I started doing that now too. I'm on the road all day and I was stopping @ Esquires sometimes 3 times a day and never get to finish a hot cup of coffee due to all the stops I make. Rosie said I should start packing a thermos in the pickup. It's cheaper and I get hot coffee all day... (That Rosie is a pretty smart cookie... :D )

I never buy coffee. I don't like it, so it is a waste of money. I rather buy an OJ or something for on the road than coffee.

There's only one that can make my coffee to my taste, and that is me. At home.

+1 on that. I switched from regular, to decaf, then quit entirely. Now I drink mostly tea. Herbal tea at that. All you need is hot water, from a kettle or a microwave.

A proper diet of fewer carbs and more protein will keep you going longer than coffee will.

Apple juice will wake you up better than any coffee out there, but anyways, students will find a way, I don't nessessarily like tuition increases but such is life, I don't like gas increases or food price increases or beer increases either.

Ah yes, brings back fond memories of pounding back a few liters of aj while I was cramming for exams. A few more in the morning, and I was good to go. To the bathroom, anyway.

I'm a fan of coffee myself, just pointing out the apple juice thing (I believe it would cost more to drink AJ every morning anyway).

While students have a right to complain about increased tuition, the government has no right to tell them to drink less coffee to afford it, thats like them saying eat less becaus of rising food prices.

Set the tuition fees fairly high, but then offer grants to poorer students, and loans to all. The repayment of loans would be based on income, if you have a well paying job you pay them all back at a reasonable interest rate. If you're working at Starbucks after graduating, you pay back a lesser amount. And for doctors, forgive part of the loans for working in an area with a doctor shortage for 5 years.

Which is what we all do, because you can only spend your money once.
When your budget is tight already, it is what happens.

Boohoo. I can't have all the coffee I want and an education to. [cry]

If this is the dilema, and they won't give up something as simple as coffee, I can almost guarantee that at some point most of these "I want it now and I want it all" students will likely default on their student loans, mortages, car loans and lines of credit making the rest of us pay for their excesses like we do now with their highly subsidized education and student loan defaults.
