I won't get into the whole handing out bibles to kids debate except to say religion shouldn't be forced down anyone's throat.
I am generally pro-religion. However, the right place for religious education to occur is in homes, synagogues and churches, and not at public schools.
I am not against the Ten Commandments being posted at Courts since those are universal views of civilized people (or should be). Similarly, I am not against nativity scenes in village squares, even though I am Jewish, since Christmas is in effect and American or Canadian holiday. Courts, public buildings and most businesses are closed.
I do draw the line, though, at religion being part of the public educational process. It should have no role there.
