Gunnair Gunnair: Wada Wada: Are knives no longer legal? For 35 years I carried a folding 4" Buck knife in it's sheath on my belt in full view and was never asked about it by anyone. Have things changed in the last ten years? Yes they are legal. Really? Crocodile Dundee says otherwise and that was back in the 80's.

I actually agree with Quebec politicians on something. Hell just might be freezing over....or....common sense is starting to prevail again. A weapon is a weapon, and this ban makes perfect sense. The rest of Canada should follow suit. People that come here from other lands should stop forcing their beliefs down our throats, and politicians here need to stop taking it up the rear and grow a pair. The line needs to be drawn. If these ingrates don't like it, they are more than welcome to go back where they came from. -J.

-J. Yeah, that's a ceremionial weapon too. Want to know where it's kept? Well, when the kirpan becomes the ceremonial symbol of Canadian Parliament, then they can bring them into Parliament, or provincial legislatures. Wanna bet none of those institutions would let me bring my mace inside?

I'd bet that if someone from the C Scots was invited into the BC Legislature, and someone there made a big deal about the sgian dubh in their hose, there'd be a lot of people on this forum up in arms over it.

Ok Gunnair, that's twice you've mentioned that. So to help put things in perspective, under what circumstances were you invited to the BC legislature that required you to wear full Scottish kit?

Proclamation of Tartan day and I was the President of the Joint Scottish Council of Victoria.

It was ceremonial n'est ce pas?

Just make the rules apply to everybody - ceremonial or not. If the rule is no knives, then don't allow any knives, and if the sheepfuckers object, well they can go home to their country too. But if they want to fly there, good luck with that ceremonial dagger in your socks.
The Sikhs have available to them to wear kirpans that are 2" long, so the blade is what, 1"? Nobody is going to object to that. Or they can wear a little dinky one around their necks. These guys in Quebec are just doing the usual shit disturbing 'cause they want to be spatial.
