2Cdo 2Cdo: Canadians getting upset at what a foreign government does in their country. Aren't they the same ones who tell us to get out of Afghanistan? It's their country. If they want to erect giant motion sensor death lasers than that is their perogative. I agree.

Yet another fear driven outburst from a bunch of so called honest politicians that claim to care about their county. I wonder how many of these idiots err I mean Senators are backed by big American interests that may be threatened by Canadian business. Maybe they want to stop the American seniors coming to Canada for cheaper prescription drugs or the tourists that want to get away from all the American idiocy for a bit and come to a country that they are not hated in. Maybe they are just bitchy. Who knows, all I do know is these guys re sure not doing anything to build up your already tainted image.

BartSimpson BartSimpson: Regina Regina: It's a diversionary tactic that will take the focus off the real problem that they WON'T solve........and therefore look bad. Very true!

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada: BartSimpson BartSimpson: The Democrats sure hate you people. I wish I could figure out why. ![huh? [huh]](./images/smilies/icon_scratch.gif) Nationalism? Pretty safe to rule that out. I can't think of any nationalistic Democrats right now.

BartSimpson BartSimpson: The Democrats sure hate you people. I wish I could figure out why. ![huh? [huh]](./images/smilies/icon_scratch.gif) Actually Bart, I think you have it completely backwards. Its the Republicans that seem to hate us. When Americans support Canada/Canadians it is almost always from people who support the Democratic party. Which parties supporters called us "soviet Canuckistan"? Which parties supporters praised our healthcare system? Which parties supporters denigrated our military and did not even think we were in Afghanistan? I've said it before and I'll say it again, your country isn't wrong for protecting your own borders and it doesn't bother me a bit to have minutemen patrols along the CAN-USA border but the vast majority of people in the US with a negative opinion of Canada comes from Republican supporters. That is simply just a fact of life.

Thank goodness they haven't found out about how habit-forming Tim Hortons is. Or our secret force of moose-riding beavers ready to invade at a moments notice.

We have no say in what they do, no matter how stupid it is.

Except we're letting them make laws for us and telling people that's a positive step. Canadian law can be enforced here, but some people want American laws enforced there and here too. Just ask Mark Emery or the guy who ran NetTeller.

There is no way that we, as Canadians, can ever change what Americans think of us. Canada will always be looked down at by Americans because we have programs that, no matter how badly flawed, go against the very heart of America. we have social programs that they can only dream of. Sure they can pressure us all they want and most of the time we do back down or change to satisfy them but we are still here and we still have a whackload of oil.

If we did a better job of controlling our drug dealers, instead of letting them walk out of jail two hours after they've been arrested, then the Americans probably wouldn't be pushing for this sort of border security. Like it or not our neighbours take their War On Drugs very seriously. We can't allow our own criminal underclass to have a field day* on this side of the border and expect the Yanks to turn a blind eye to it. And they were talking mostly about ectasy/heroin/coke dealers, not some allegedly 'harmless' grow-oppers. This means dealing with something that's controlled by organized criminals who, by the way, always have their disgusting little fingers involved in all sorts of nastyness ranging from gun smuggling (back into Canada mostly) to prostitution slavery to child pornography. These are not nice people were talking about here and having another round of "oh, those stupid Americans, why are they so uncouth and backwards?" isn't going to change that particular hard fact of reality. *Considering to be a drug-dealer in Canada? Why not? Incredible wealthy opportunities, upwards of $100000 per month for a crack dealer, according to a series of articles this week in the Calgary Sun. Tax-free living. Hot- and cold-running whores who seem to be attracted to that lifestyle like rats to a rancid piece of cheese. Adventurous daily events, especially if you get good at dodging the bullets thrown at you from the other dealers and their friends. And, best of all, getting to be processed by a legal system staffed by judges who do not take these crimes seriously at all. Do this stuff on the US side of the border and you're looking at life in a SuperMax; do it in Canada and on average you're out in less than five years (if you even have to do that much time), and what's wrong with doing only five years if it means you still never have to work for a living?. So, if you don't value your soul, what's the point of being honest again? ![huh? [huh]](./images/smilies/icon_scratch.gif)

CAN-US-MEX The harsher the drug enforcement the worse the drug related crime. Not a coincedence.

The link is to the latest gallop poll that just came out today. Canada has the highest favorability rating of any country. Those are regular people {not politicians} answering those questions
