The biggest threat to Westerners abroad is they fail to realise that they are in another world. A world with no real rule of law. They think they are still in their home countries with a few quaint and rustic differences and they act accordingly.

Now and then they get a reality check, just like in Cairo, right now.

True dat. All the time I have been on the road I have had enough
cash and credit to either drive out, or airport, 1st class next plane
i dont care where its going just get me the hell out... plus bribe money.

To sit and wait for the embassy to get off its' ass is just stupid.
