Charges to be laid.
Apparently the pressure is overwhelming.

Either that or the investigators did their jobs exactly as they were supposed to.

So, do you retract your accusations of a cover up?

$1:
a recent video that showed Buddy Tavares on his knees allegedly being kicked in the head by a Kelowna RCMP officer.

Ummm how is something that is patently visible even to a blind man considered "alleged"?

Innocent until proven guilty. But yeah, that one was stretching it!

I agree. The only thing up for debate in my opinion is whether he was justified in his force. But that's for the courts to decide.

Agreed. He wasn't stroking his head gently with his foot but;

We should let the criminal trial run it's course like it does for every other person in Canada.

Personally I think this 'cop' is a disgrace but I'm well aware that the media show events to suit the agenda of the day. Other things may have happened off camera.

Lets hear how constable wanker defends his actions. Then we will have a verdict.

EyeBrock EyeBrock:
James Young James Young:
Well before one can be tried in court a charge has to be laid. Why the delay in charging? The cops charge all the time with no evidence and put a person through the Court process. This is standard practice. And no one is ever held accountable.

Arrested and charged. No investigation.
No evidence
Processed and incarcerated
Lawyer hired by accused
Bail
Court again disclosure
Court again trial date. A year in the future.
Charges dropped with a plea bargain.
Nobody in authority is held responsible.

Now the kick in the face is certainly evidence. Why not the same procedure as indicated above?

You really are full of utter bollocks. Do try and back up your BS with facts.

Sorry. If one has a dead mind. I avoid them. I stand by what I have written. The Charter is contravened every day with impunity, by police and by ignoring it the crown and courts.

Charter.
SEARCH OR SEIZURE.
8. Everyone has the right to be secure against unreasonable search or seizure.
DETENTION OR IMPRISONMENT.
9. Everyone has the right not to be arbitrarily detained or imprisoned.

Well, give me an example of when this has happened. Not just some cut and paste from the Toronto Star, an example that stands up to legal scrutiny. Otherwise foxtrot oscar.

There is no criminal trial as of yet, just an investigation by the Abby police. On the face of it, I hope they recommend charges, or have some really solid reasons why not besides he's one of us and really not a bad guy. Even if he's convicted, he'll still remain on the force, as we saw with one of the guys found guilty of attacking that newspaper guy. That also involved kicks to the head and a lot more.

It's all a bit weird out there. The cops have to go through a crown attorney and the crown lays the charges.

On the others, the courts made the decision, blame them.

Your hopes are already a reality, andyt. Charges were recommended by the Abbotsford Police Department a short time ago -- assault causing bodily harm for the officer involved in this incident.

Wow, that was quick. These things usually take months when a cop is involved. I guess with the threatened protest and all, the cops were getting nervous. Looks like people are finally getting fed up enough to speak out.

So, question for Brock, if he's charged and convicted, should he remain on the force?

As long he does sensitivity training and promises not to punt people in the head when they are helpless anymore.

Well, I'm not a judge but I wouldn't want to work with this guy. I think it would be best to get rid of him if he's convicted.
