Choban Choban:
I remember when I was in school, we had gym evry day, my kids has it 3 times a week, I asked his principal about this and he told me that they were mandated to give 1 hour of supervised physical activity a day and that recess/lunchtime play covered that.

What, are the kids jogging while eating their lunches? And how many of them are playing with their electronic toys the rest of the time. Education should include physical education. Add an hour to the school day if necessary to fit it in.

That would mean the teachers have to work more hours for the $3500-4500 they get paid

$1:
Children will be asked to aim for 60 minutes of physical activity per day under the new guidelines, down from 90 minutes. For adults, the recommendations will be cut back from an hour daily to 150 minutes weekly. Standards for seniors will also be lowered: from 30-60 minutes per day, to 150 minutes of moderate activity a week.

Wow! Talk about misleading!

The guidelines (when they get released at the end of the month) will call for 60 minutes of moderate activity per day. They used to call for 60 minutes of light activity, and 30 minutes of moderate activity per day (equaling the 90 minutes).

So, they are calling for more vigorous activity for a longer time, and skipping the light activity. Don't reporters do any research any more?
