Lemmy Lemmy:
Yes, what seems anti-democtratic is troubling to me. But it's a colossal leap to prognosticate that books will be burned and dissenters murdered and Brazil, Columbia and Panama will be invaded. Why don't we wait 'til he does something evil before we declare him so? The people of Venezuela have never been happier.

Germans in th the late 1930 thought Hitler was a good guy and were as happy as hell as well. have no fear he will do something evil shortly.

Oh, give me a fucking break. The American media treatment of Chavez and Venezuela is Yellow Journalism at its ugliest. William Randolf Hearst would be honoured to see it. It was a coin toss whether you guys went into Iraq or Venezuela. The "Sadam has WMDs" lie just seemed more palatable than the "Chavez is gonna occupy the canal" lie. He's a bit nutty. He likes the spotlight. The Venezuelans like him. He's done nothing to suggest he's a threat. Focus on the real world hotspots and get your eyes of their oil.

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
BartSimpson BartSimpson:
Yes, Mr. C is a younger person with some novel political passions, but he's proven to us long-timers that he's intelligent and is generally polite and fun to have around.

Oh I'm sure that's up for debate

;)

I don't mean to be 'policing' or anything, but just for some advice 'World Peace':
1. Don't link to sites that just link to an actual news site.... There already is a portal, it's CKA, we don't need to be filtered through Alex Jones' propaganda portal as well. The point of the news submission is for the direct news article... Also, no blogs or other completely unverified 'news'.

World Peace World Peace:
I'm hoping some of the "uninformed" like yourself, might explore the site as well.

try --- or ---

it's a world wide awakening movement not just a couple "conspiracy guys"

spend some time doing your own research and educate yourself and those around you.

If you choose not to...don't bother answering my posts
unintelligent people are sheep

It's not a world wide awakening movement, it's a shrouded off group relying on 'Loose Change' and New World Order theories.

You guys are real good at selling books and movies.

Informed? Oh no believe me, I've watched almost all of Alex Jones' films... When I was younger, I was swept up in Loose Change. I watched 'The Obama Deception' a few nights ago. NOT a way to be 'informed'. If you want to be informed, stop buying their movies and books and do something more productive then stalk the Bilderburg Group... There ARE issues in this world. There is deception. And there are con men behind closed doors. But not for a NWO one government, just money.

I'm sorry, your conspiracies are in another sand castle.

I truly hope I am wrong about Chavez, but in the history of the world power power does tend to corrupt, and his Parliament or National Assembly giving him "rule by decree" rights that he can extend himself by declaring a crisis does not bode well for democracy.

Wheather it is good for s isn't relevant, but is it good for the folks in Venezula?

In any event Chavez doesn't have to worry about us. Obama is too chicken shit to do anything about him any way.

Well we seem to agree that Chevez is moving away from Democracy as we know it and closer to the kind of Democracy they have in Cuba. If his people want that then its fine.

I agree with the comment by Winston Churchill on Democracy that it is the worst form of government, but it is certainly better than what is in second place.

A parliament giving up it's power in their version of the Enabling Act usually finds it very hard to get it back.

As far as being concerned that Obama won't do anything to intervean I can say don't worry. He is too PC to do anything. If anything he might be considered more of a threat in they might trip over him while he is grovelling to them.

I wonder why that was the case. If you talk to Germans from that time they appear to have seen Hitler as someone who would take back what had been stolen from them after WWI. In the case of Latin America, I suspect growing up in a Banana Republic leads to the desire to have someone who would give back to them what is theirs.

Venezuelans seem to think so. what makes us know better?
Who are we, citizens of North America, to claim that we know what's best for them?

Right now an invasion of Venezuela to 'liberate' it and install a 'democratic' capitalist puppet government can not be justified. Doesn't stop the CIA of course.

These days the CIA is more interested in stopping shoe bombers, underwear bombers, food poisoners from assorted nut groups on this planet who aim to do us harm. Terrorist only have to be succesfull once in a while. We have to stop them 100% of the time.

Chavez is small potatoes compared to that.

I some American political offices tere ar term limits The US President and many state governerships have a term limit. I'm not sure if that was a good idea or not.

I get ery uncomfortable with a governemnts parliament giving its authority away as I said if that is what the Venuzuellan people want that is up to them. I personally would be very nervous if an American President ruled by decree.
