Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
This Atis lawyer guy sounds like a class act.

I wonder what other things he judges 12 year olds for.

I'd quit too, fuck that shit.

As if at 12 years old you need some creep full-grown-adult breathing down your neck and deciding that you are 'not good enough' when she probably gets the same BS from her classmates.

The sad part is, it's some of these fucked up parents that care more about their kids being "winners" than the kids do.

Come on now, it's easy enought to partition a dressing room for a girl to use part of it, this is the LOWEST skill level of competitive hockey for this age group meaning that everyone has the right to play.

There is a partition; it's called the girls' league.

Normally I'd agree with you, but the day and age we live in doesn't coincide with these issues, I was the first one on my high school football team to rant and rave against the 1 girl that wanted to play, coaches gave her a chance, she made the team and was a valuable player throughout the season, she changed in a seperate room and there was never an issue.
I could see this fathers case in a super competitive league but as the article said it is the lowest level of competitive hockey in the area, meaning that if she made the team then she's good enough to play based on the coaches decision, this father should let his kid try out for a higher skill team and see if his ice time equals his skill level, I'm betting he would sit more than he does now

The girl's ability, or lack thereof, pales in comparison as an issue when put up against the fact that Mr. fucking Hockey Dad here is an overwhelming asshole. Justice would be that he gets a swift kick in the balls for doing this in public to someone else's kid. But he's a lawyer so the fact that he has no balls, except when he's behind his desk issuing threats on paper to anyone unfortunate enough to cross his path, should be apparent to everyone involved.

The thing is that a kid's hockey team is not a social engineering tool. It's a bloody hockey team. No doubt she played like a girl (no offense intended) and was having a hard time keeping up with the hard and rough play of the boys (it is hockey, after all).

Probably best she got off the team before someone took out some of her teeth.

This is deplorable conduct. The fact that the player chastised is a girl is secondary. This is a case where a player who made the team was bullied off the team by the parent of another player. Gender is not the issue. Can you imagine the gaul it would take to actually write up legal documents to call out your 12 year-old's playmate? And where is the coach's balls? He picked the team. He should have told this kid's dad to go fuck his hat. Winning is not part of the equation at this age. They're fucking 12 year olds. This is supposed to be about building confidence, maturing, developing skills and HAVING FUN. Disgraceful.

Don't you think the coach should decide that? If the codfish dad was so concerned about his superstar boy, perhaps he should look for another team. The codfish's boy probably was not nearly as good as the dad thought he was and the dad was looking for some excuse for his less than stellar performance.

Looking out for Lisa?

I don't know about the Frenchman it would take to draw up a legal document (I think you meant 'gall') but I can easily imagine the necessity of needing to draft a legal document to recommend removing a girl from a boy's team because, as we're seeing, there may well be legal ramifications.

Were I the coach wanting to remove the girl, even for obviously poor skills, I'd have involved a lawyer especially where this is in Canada and such an act can put you in front of the star chamber you people have up there in the form of the CHRC.

Looking out for Lisa?

1. Lisa is not interested in hockey.

2. Lisa outshot Jeff Holquin of the US 2008 Olympic trap shooting team at a fundraiser in Orange County in August 2007 and does not need me to look out for her.

3. Three hours after her total hysterectomy she was up walking around at the hospital and off of pain medications the next day. That was April 2009.

4. In December 2009 she ran her first marathon. That's after the hysterectomy, breast surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments.

Suffice it to say, my wife is tougher than I am and she's got it in her to lay waste to a hockey team if she so determines to do so.
