Yeah well it always easy to make fun at the expense of others, Google translate is also crap as it also translated the Apaches were carrying out rescue missiom ( or something like that )

Only Brens translation pointed out it was escorting and not carrying out these mission. Hence my crappy remarks  !

Ofcourse they always put their spin on it to make themseives look like heroes. Many Americans still believed they won WW II single handedly !

Brenda Brenda:
Translation **: At a later time was during a fight actually asked for support from the air by the Aussies, but the battle was over when the Dutch Apache arrived. At that moment, the Taliban and the ISAF-military were kilometers apart and the military didn't ask for help with weapons anymore.

(I didnt use a translator. If yours does it better than I did, be my guest, I don't know the military terms.)

I'm sorry, but this is an itty bitty different than "Those f*cking dutchies left us here to die!

I get what your saying Brenda. Two different stories here and one of them are misrepresenting the facts.

Gunships don't pick up medical cases..........they are suppose to create them.

FYI, I never said they "picked up medical cases". I said they HELPED, and later used the word "escorted".

You, as well as 2Cdo, could have bothered to read (translate) the story I posted to back up my claim. But no, you guys thought it was a good idea to play it on the person.

Weak. Really.

Not to speak for Regina but an ATTACK HELICOPTER pilot who refuses to come to the aid of troops on the ground is a coward. Whether Dutch, American, British or whoever. I have been that guy on the ground calling for air support and would probably hunt the pilot down later and give him a little "corrective training" for being a cowardly fuck.

You're only upset because this one example is Dutch. Get over it, cowards are found in every army on the planet and need to be exposed for what they are.

According to his chief, he did EXACTLY what he needed to.
And no, I am not upset because of this example is Dutch, I am "upset" because you guys attack the pilot who was attacked by an Aussie, and you, without any thought, defend the attacker. I did some research. Get over it, and stop attacking me.

The were called for support ONCE, and when they got there, they didnt need the Apaches help anymore. Reading problems? Or just too fucking uptight to read what I posted? Methinks the latter.

It's a two seat gunship, so what exaclty does "helping" translate to when there would be no room for medical cases. Besides I believe they are two different stories and the reporter probably doesn't know a Chinook from a Huey.

The fact that they wouldn't drop below 5 000 metres or provide covering fire for the pinned soldiers and their wounded comrades says alot about how effective they were in assisting in evacuating the wounded.

$1:
Another SAS soldier marked targets for the choppers using a machine gun to kick up dust clouds close to enemy positions.

"They still wouldn't engage. SG (the air strike co-ordinator) had had enough so he told them, 'If you're not going to engage then you might as well f--- off', and they did. Cheers boys."

Doesn't sound like the engagement was over, now does it?

Hell, even the Pakistani Blue Hats did more in Mogadishu.

Well, it's a book. Anyone can write anything in a book. Fact is, that the Dutch military (according to the Ministry of Defense spokesperson) don't recognize themselves in it, not after speaking with the ones there, or going through the paperwork. I guess it's a "he said, she said" story. If there would really have been a problem, I am sure it would have been sorted out by the Ministries of Defense in Australia and The Netherlands.

The Media are not known for getting things right.
