I've been dealing with the social effects of the prohibition of narcotics for 20 years.

Let the losers who want to sniff/inject etc., buy it at a government controlled store, tax it so revenue goes to health-care and control it with provincial laws like we do with alcohol.

It would be way cheaper than buying from some shit-head dealer and the profits could go to rehab etc.

The losers are getting the stuff anyway.

Frankly, I'm okay with sentencing non-violent narco users to long sentences in labor camps. You fix three problems that way; they get to clean up, we get cheap labor for the farms, and the cartels get denied a market.

Incarceration would make me want to do things far worse then weed, Bart.

Oh, no. I don't mean cozy, warm prisons. I mean labor camps with no heat in the winter and no a/c in the summer. Hard labor with a 1500 calorie-a-day diet so you don't get too fat and then I'd make it a purely vegetarian diet to dull your thought processes and keep you docile.

The biggest problem would be mass testing the population.
