My last post was a little too flippant. Seriously though, most RCMP officers I've spoken to have said that in the vast majority of communities, including aboriginal, the law is unenforceable. They have no intention of harassing natives or farmers to register an old rifle. Buying new ones is probably a different story.

If they demand an exemption they'll get it. I'm actually surprised it wasn't already granted to them back when the registry was first introduced and forced onto the rest of us.

Unfair? Of course it is. But one must not argue with "traditions", that'll just lead to an expensive court battle which the Government will end up losing anyway.
