The Iranians are expressing their unique and interesting beliefs in Islam and they should be respected for that lest their delicate religious sensibilities be offended.
This is the best illustration of why there needs to be secular governments, separation of Church and State. What is going on is plain wrong, both on a moral and humanist level.
I don't know if they would do even do this is Saudi Arabia. Would they? I know
they are very hard line, would they be this hard line?
As I said earlier they could save face by saying she is "unlit to live in Iran the Islamic Republic Of Iran and deport her and her family. She and her family would be free, Amadinejad and Ayatollah whoever can thump their chests and say they defefended their values and everybody can be happy.
Just as A point of interest and curiosity was Iran better off under the Shah? Or is it too close to call?
