From whatever I've read there isn't any actual proof of him even lobbing any gernades and there are various conflicting accounts of what actually happened.
And thats what I'm saying try him under Candian law in Canada and not the modern day concentration camp Gitmo
If he was innocent then of course set him free, If he was throwing grenades at Uniformed American one of the a medic though that would be hard to ignore.
He is being tried lets see what happens.
There seems to be some doubt about if he was the one throwing the grenade.
But anyway, he was fighting in a war. The US soldiers were shooting at him. Since when do we prosecute combatants? Just because he didn't have a uniform?
But, isn't there some clause in Canadian citizenship about losing it if you fight for another country? We could use that on him. Not as a special case, but if that is the law, uphold it.
The child soldier argument is pretty powerful too. Either we recognize and abide by it or scrap the whole idea. Do we really want the latter?
