The fact most of the stickers have been sold to Europe, proves my suspicion. North Americans just do not have the same sense of humour as Europeans. Methinks thecheeky.com owners are of European decent :D

Being a woman you don't find the bound and gagged stewardess one a bit degrading to women? I mean there are a lot of women being shipped around in shipping crates in global person trading, or whatever the technical term for it is.

Nope. If I have to connect everything to "real life misery and crimes (to women)", I wouldn't have a life.
If we have to find every blonde joke offensive to women (any, not just blondes), where would we be?

The Federale Transport minister has no sense of ha-ha. They are hilaroius.

I guess. I'd never put one on my suitcases. I've got more class than to use the stewardess one, and don't need the grief that might come from some official.

Whereas I believe I have the constitutional right to be strip searched. 8O ;)

What's going to get them pissed off? "I brake for Unicorns" A "Jolly Roger"? A sticker that makes my baggage look like it's stuffed full of endangered animals? Seriously. I've got better things to do that cater to their security theatre. If some official wants to get bent out of shape because I put a sticker on my suitcase that makes my baggage look like something it's not and people notice it and get a chuckle after a long boring flight and terrible service, then my mission is complete.

The Federal transport minister can fold it till it's all sharp corners and shove it. I will think and do what I wish to do.

I prefer to just pass thru the whole flying experience as quietly and smoothly as possible. It's always given me the creeps, made me feel like cattle.

Be a good citizen, and don't question authority. They know what they are doing, just let them do it. Things go smoother that way. ؟

Or, we could really do the job required by taking a lesson from the Israelis who have a much better track record on airline security.

No, I question authority. This doesn't really rise to that level. And I prefer to question them when I have some cards in my corner, not when they hold all of them as they do at airports. Good luck with your quest - my guess is you'll just talk about it, be a good little citizen when you pass thru the airport too.

Great, lets learn from the Israelis. I'm sure if you did your questioning authority schtick there, you wouldn't have much fun at all.

You question authority, when the cards are in your favour? So, basically only on the Internet then. And what quest are you talking about? The quest to point out bullshit whenever I see it? Thanks, I enjoy that one.

Anyone can see, if you have a group of people trying to kill you, take a lesson from whom that group is also trying to kill - and have been unsuccessful for many years. Perhaps you would rather ignore those lessons, based because you don't agree with their politics. Me, I'm all for seeing the difference between politics, public safety and public convenience and learning how they protect public safety while maintaining public convenience.

Making the white guy from Alberta take off his shoes and submit to a full body scan does nothing to improve public safety, when it's the brown middle eastern guy who is far more likely to be the trouble maker. Perhaps his country lets him have humorous stickers on his luggage, without getting all uptight.

I question authority when it does some good, not when I'm trying to enter a foreign country where I basically have no rights. Are you really getting in the face of customs authorities around the world, or just talking about it here?

I absolutely agree with taking lessons from the Israelis, as I said - they do seem very successful in keeping out the problems. Are you really going to go there and test their sense of humor? I doubt if they have much of one if you start testing their authority.

I have no problem with border guards doing intelligent profiling - it only makes sense.

I guess I'm not all fight the power about this because I basically agree with airport security, and don't feel my rights are infringed because I can't put a stupid sticker on a suitcase. Maybe I'd feel differently if I was ever seriously hassled (I have had my car gone thru very carefully at US customs because I was too polite to the border guard and called him sir). But as I say, I'm basically in stealth mode, just trying to get thru without any hassle. Borders just don't seem to be a place to insist on your civil rights, since you don't seem to have any, and maybe it has to be that way.

I believe it is always a good time to question authority. And the article says it's just Canadian authorities that seem to have no sense of ha-ha. So yes, since sales of this are now not being honoured to a Canadian address, I'm asking a friend in the US to order one and send it to me. One of the first phrases I like to learn in a new language is 'Fuck them if they can't take a joke'. Intent is everything, after all.

Well then, what are we arguing about? :)

That's where we differ. If I want to put a stupid sticker on my luggage that does no one any harm, I feel my right "to choose", my right "to amuse myself" and my right "to be an asshole if I want to be" are being violated. I intend no harm to anyone, and if someone is wearing his ginch too tight and can't see that, then I'm not above a little poke in the ribs to remind them of it.

They are people too, doing a rough job. They need a laugh too. If that means I fly into the radar, so be it.

What I find funny about luggage is the organs at the airport wanna know if your luggage has ever been out of your sight. However, when I arrive at my destination and my baggage doesn't, it's pretty obvious to me that THEY weren't keeping an eye on it the whole time.
