let the current mission run it's course, then double it! Include the air force, providing force protection for our troops. CF-18's, Griffon, Chinooks, everything we have. No more "toes in the water" approach, lets jump in and finish the damn job!

ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL

Canada the mighty.

I guess that would be the "we had to destroy the village to save it" approach.

I'm sorry, Humpty Dumpty has fell from his wall and all the CF can not put it together again. 10 years and if we leave now it will revert to when we were not even there. The only reason we are there is because Pakistan is in just as bad a state.

I could be talked into supporting an invasion of Pakistan, in theory, but in practice that's probably not a good idea.

This is such an unwinnable war that it beggars description. The fact that Obomba, and yes, even handome steve would possess the unmitigated hubris and arrogance to think that they can somehow perservere in that 1000 year quagmire is astonishing. The Soviets gave up and so did countless others who had twice the balls and vision and resolve that either of the aformentioned have collectively. This war will never be won and these losers and the brits and others will have the blood of a lot of ppl on their hands when all is said and done. It is really a sad situation. One day that arrogant jerk obomba will have his head out of his butt and really have to face the music in a way he never imagined possible.

I say stick in there, Afghanistan is a justified cause. They want stability, we can give it to them. It's taken a lot of effort and deaths and sure if we stay in longer it will take more. However, you cannot back away from helping out a country just because somebody might get killed. That's not the Canadian way, more importantly. That's not the Canadian Military way. We have always gone out of our way to help those in need. We never ask for any rewards, any respect or anything at all. We are there to help those who need help and leave. That's what we have done for years so why stop now?

I would have agreed to a withdrawl if I believed Afghanistan was a lost cause, however they found mineral desposists in Afghanistan. The only thing missing besides further training which is required of extended operations is the Afghanistan to achieve economic growth to pay for there newly trained army and police force after we are gone. Now they can. Why waste all these years and all those sacrafice without ensuring the mission we set out to do is completed. Hell, if we manage to stabalize Afghanistan. Remove the Taliban and infact get some peace in the country. We might actually get some thanks, instead of being remembered as the country that killed a lot of Afghani's and cut and ran.

One hundred and fifty so far, with probably a few more to follow before this crap ends. We have, as a nation, been promised July 2011 for the end of the combat role. Keep your promise and bring the troops home before it ends up like Cyprus. It's not our war.
