The troops will show up with guns at the ready and most Canadians will do what, exactly? Most of you don't have and don't like guns and then the remainder who do own guns are not about to engage their own government because, as you've told me many times, that's only something those rude Americans would consider.

I was actually anti Afghanistan war at first, but the more I looked around and the more I realized that the fools that call themselves the Taliban need to be quashed and gotten rid of.

But it is flustrating to see that its been so long and still the situatrion hasn't gotten any better after all these years, if not worse.

As for the protesters arn't they allowed to exercise their freedom of expression ? as long as they were peacefull I dont see where the problem is or its that right only reserved for the non muslims ?

You'll never quash the Taliban with military force alone. And you'll never do anything focusing only on Astan, while Pstan is the real problem. The conditions exist that breed the Taliban, they are still, I'm sure supported by the ISI and I wouldn't be surprised if there's Saudi money flowing in there too. Really the only way I see is for us to give up our oil addiction and just leave that part of the world to sort itself out. If they try to come over here, blow the shit out of them, otherwise leave them alone.

Probably lots did. There were the families that hid folks like Ann Frank's family, or ran underground resistance operations, or openly took up arms. And there were those who either shut their blinds when the Gestapo came for their neighbours, or actively joined in the suppression of the Jews.

You can't expel people we have invited here en masse. Different thing to kick out the ones causing trouble. And we could of course reduce immigration. But I read an article that said a democratically elected government has never been able to do that. The immigrants that want to bring over their whole tribe care a great deal about it, while the rest of the population doesn't give a shit, so the tail wags the dog.
