Gay and women's rights are relatively new even in the West. In wealthy Asian countries such as China, Japan and Taiwan, being gay openly is going to lead to many problems for an individual. You can imagine what it can do in poor countries where the authorities barely have control of the place or in Mulims ones where people are already intolerant with anything other than 6 daily prayers.

Where would one get off with the idea that we're so high and mighty. If an independent republic legalized all drugs, see how far their independence would stretch.

We talk of oppression, who gives Pakistan billions of dollars? Does Pakistan not oppress Pashtuns, Balochis, non Muslims?

Who gives billions to Saudi?

Who gives billions to Ethiopia?

These countries dish out plenty of oppression, yet our "western allies" are in full support.

Your suggesting I demonize Israel. I honestly do not remember speaking of my feelings for Israel as a country, or any Arab countries or even any countries on the Med.
