Aboriginals arent the government-appointed authority to search, arrest and detain people. Thats the difference.
Since when are RCMP government appointed? Ya might wanna Google that.

I dont know...how are these people supposed to trust the authorities when those same authorities are making these kinds of cracks about them?
It's called a joke. My doctor jokes with me when I go in to see him too. Should I find a new doctor with NO sense of humour? Does that make him more trustworthy? Gimme a break.

If you were a member of the native, would you cooperate with him the next time he wants you to snitch on your neighbours? Would you trust him to investigate your complaints fairly? Would you believe him if he was accused of police brutality against a member of your community?
Same as I would if I were Ukrainian, Scottish or Pakistanian. I have some GREAT jokes about them too - shall I forward them to you? (And just for the record - I do have some native in me. You won't see me crying about a freakin' joke circulating, no matter WHO sent it to me, or where it originated, AND I do have several friends who are either RCMP or work in their offices).

Community relations are a cornerstone of policing, and this damages the relationship between the department and the Native community.
This damaged nothing. The only thing it did is open the window to another round of belly achcing, or possibly a potential lawsuit from the natives/aboriginals/indians...whatever you wanna call them. Furthermore - there are native police officers serving (many of which likely thought the joke was amusing), so I really have no idea where you got all of this, but you might wanna get out a bit more.
