Homos for Hebes?

WTF is Hebes short for?

Hebrews. It's the only alliteration I could come up with.

Pointing out how close Israel is to committing the most ironic genocide in history could be grounds for refusing a parade.

Oh well then, they should canvass the Palestinian community for funds to support their parade.

Yep, considering most Palestinians are muslim, and considering the muslim view on homosexuality I sure can see THAT working out real well for the gay community

Then again, it might change their POV on the whole thing.

Ah, I got it now. Poofters for Palestine.

Utter bullshit.

How many Pride parades are there in Gaza? Or the West Bank?

Or in any Arab/Islamic country?

Spare me your anti-jew rhetoric.

Why don't they have fundraisers to pay for it themselves. I'm sure they could raise the money on their own.

Bodah and EB - same reason other groups seek the govt titty. No reason to exclude one group just because who they like to fuck. Maybe the govt should not be funding any groups, but then that would cost them votes.

The torys not wanting to fund such events shouldn't be any big surprise.. they are the most right wing fundamentalist government we have ever had... thanks to the bible thumping harper and the trash left over from the reform party. His recent decision to stop funding womens groups says it all.. the torys would make farting illegal if they thought there were a few votes in it for them..

Come on ken......this has been a big issue in Toronto on the Pride parade and the fact that an overtly anti-jewish group has broke the rules but hasn't been kicked out.

Fuck that, we are taxed to death in this province as it is.

I don't disagree with that and I'm not suggesting NEW taxes, but, without doing any research, I'd guess that the Pride parade is worth several million dollars in economic value to the Province and the City of Toronto. A $400M investment that generates millions in business revenue and tax revenue seems like the sort of event that we'd be foolish to cancel. It's not like it's money frivolously spent. There are lots of places to cut that don't have big-time economic spin-off benefits.

Please, they can barely afford suicide belts anymore and they have no room left for pride.

A man lives in his room. A bad man shoves another man into the room and bars the door. The first man tells the second to leave, the Second man says no. They fight and the first man looses and is locked in the closet. The first man pounds at the closet door, he breaks his hands, rips out his nails trying to tear down the door, his mind splinters and he becomes a horrific caricature of hate.

There are 3 possible outcomes and the safest one for the second man is in killing the first while he's still in the closet.

I'm not saying they aren't hesitant or taking their time. But it's where the whole thing is going.

So like a tree falling in the forest...would we be hearing anything about this if it wasn't a special interest group? I think not.

If anything that $400M would better spent on things like improving emergency room wait-times, Dr. shortages, nursing shortages, hospital bed closures, ambulance response times, etc, etc.
