This woman lives on welfare and in government subsidized housing. How in the fuck is she able to spend $4K on a car, let alone $40K? It sounds to me like SHE'S the crook, not the snake that sold her the car.

Brenda Brenda: She came in for new tires, not for a car. So? When I go to the grocery store for milk, I don't leave with $5000 worth of groceries I can't afford. She agreed to buy a $40K+ car. If she can afford ANY new car, why the hell is she on the brown envelope?

Don't forget she is on disability for a reason, and the reason is not because she misses a leg.

Lemmy Lemmy: This woman lives on welfare and in government subsidized housing. How in the fuck is she able to buy a $39K car even for $39K? It sounds to me like SHE'S the crook, not the snake that sold her the car. No dealership in their right mind is going to give you financing when you make less than $2000/mo in disability income. No matter how badly you may NEED a car. It requires a certain lack of ethics and morals to even suggest that someone in her situation could afford a "new" $40,000 car as these two slime bags did. Dealerships like to send their sales staff to seminars on how to idenify personality types so they can adjust their sales tactics accordingly. The most insidious technique is used for people that are a little "slow on the upswing" so to speak. You act like you're actually doing them a favour while at the same time, applying high pressure tactics causing confusion in the more slow-witted car buyer. And a $4500 protection package? Yep, sure sounds to me like the lady is the crook in this deal.

But if this woman actually believed she could afford a new car while on the government dole, she's either nuts or a scammer too.

Or, like I like to call it, mentally challenged, which is WHY she is on disability and subsidized housing. In addition, but this is my personal belief, I really do think she thought they were genuine. I really think she thought she was done a favour. She struggled to pay her bills, but she DID pay them.

Here's some things to keep in mind when discussing this story: $1: Smith said the salesmen also billed Leonard, who is intellectually disabled... $1: Furthermore, Smith said Leonard, who is unemployed, should not have qualified for a loan from the dealer because her monthly income including a disability pension is less than $2,000. I hope she can get out of this deal with no harm to her, and maybe someone will help her sue them for damages and aggravation.

She should be paid back in full, with interest, get her old car (or similar) back. And that should be it for her. (as per court ruling)
Mazda Canada should be firing them assholes, and step up and apologize, give her a 2009 almost new car, with a huge bouquet of flowers and cut their loses. The yshould never accept bs like this.

Ohhh I'm pretty sure she'll get out of this deal with no harm done to her. And I know I wouldn't be upset at a lawyer taking her case pro-bono and fleecing the living shit out of those two as well as the dealership.

Of course I read the article. I did, admittedly, miss the part about her "disability" being intellectual.

Reply from MCIEP@mazda.ca (Mazda Canada) $1: Good day (Tritium) Thank you for taking the time to write to Mazda Canada Inc. While the details of this incident are very disturbing to us please be reassured that this is not a common situation among Mazda dealers, nor is it behavior that we condone. Customer satisfaction is of paramount importance to Mazda Canada and we expect every dealership to treat people professionally and with integrity and there are clauses in our Dealer Sales and Service Agreement, the legal agreement between Mazda Canada Inc. and individual Mazda dealerships, that stipulate they must operate their dealership in accordance with all federal, provincial and municipal laws. Beyond our legal agreement we also have operating guidelines that we expect dealerships to adhere to. Please understand that we cannot discuss the details of our investigation into this matter as there is a legal proceeding underway and the hearing is scheduled next week. Best Regards, Mazda Canada Inc. Guess we have a week to wait to see how Mazda Canada handles this scam, the dealership and the two creaps that would take advantage of a mentally challenged women, Trung and Mohammed (Moe) Shaikh.
