andyt andyt: You're wrong - there is no requirement to have ID for US citizens. There is no Federal requirement. Although if the FBI, IRS, TSA, etc. asks you for ID and you don't have it with you then you can expect to be their guest until your status can be ascertained so, essentially, the Deferal government does require this but not in a specific law, just in a body of regulations. The various states, however, have different laws and while you do not have an obligation to carry ID, the police can and do have the right to detain anyone they come into contact with who is not carrying ID or, as Arizona has done in support of an existing Federal law, proof of citizenship.

andyt andyt: The solution to this is the same as the drug problem. You'll always have plenty of supply as long as the demand is there. The US should be working on the demand side for both problems. I agree. But the fact that too many employers in the USA (Wal Mart) hire illegals does not excuse the fact that illegals knowingly enter the US in violation of our laws.

You're confusing ID with citizenship ID I beleive. I've never hear of any of those agencies detaining somebody because they don't have their birth certificate or naturalization papers with them.

No but it means the lawgivers are speaking out of both sides of their mouths. If hey were serious, they would go after the employers that hire illegals.

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada: martin14 martin14: Mr_Canada Mr_Canada: Martin14's Post editing to compensate for his lack of points or mental structure. This coming from you, the local Commie Lover, where you used to have an extra ID card showing where you worked, and if you didnt have this card, with your employers stamp, you got tossed in jail. ? Thats really fucking rich. Lol, yeah, I forgot I ran the failed USSR. Good 'argument' though against my opposition of your racism and support of race-profiling. You are truly excellent at this. Give yourself a hand. The ignorance train keeps rolling right along. I wasnt even talking about the USSR.

Notice how there's never any mention of penalizing anyone who hires undocumented workers, as if supply exists without demand.
These laws are really vile, and this "blame the 'legals" mentality is so ass-backwards you just want to shake these people and break them out of this ugly cult they've gotten wrapped up in.
I heard Arizona Congressman Grijalva on the TV yesterday, who is going to call of a boycott of major events (conventions, expos, etc.) in Arizona if these Nazi laws get passed.

For immigration purposes foreigners MUST have those ID's with them or have a passport or they WILL be detained and that applies to Canadians in the USA, too. Really, when it gets down to brass tacks, why should Canadians go through hoops to enter the US while Mexicans are supposed to be allowed to roam the US at will?

Money talks. $1: These laws are really vile, and this "blame the 'legals" mentality is so ass-backwards you just want to shake these people and break them out of this ugly cult they've gotten wrapped up in. Ideologically-induced rabies is impossible to cure. $1: I heard Arizona Congressman Grijalva on the TV yesterday, who is going to call of a boycott of major events (conventions, expos, etc.) in Arizona if these Nazi laws get passed. I'd like all the illegals to take an entire week off from work and literally paralyze the economy of the entire state, which is exactly what would happen if immigrant labour were spontaneously removed from doing all the shit jobs that the "real" American no longer do. Hitting these redneck fucktards and right-wing psychopaths in their wallets might be the only way to slap some sense into them.
