Iran could have uranium for one bomb in year
Didn't we hear that about Iraq before each of the two Gulf Wars, and each time it was proved false?
Iran has had chemical and biological weapons for decades (as a counter to Israeli nukes) and never once launched them. Even with their sponsorship of Hezbollah and terror groups, it's never been stupid enough to give them to terrorist either.
Iran wants the bomb for 2 reasons: as a deterrent to Israel's nukes and to get some respect from the West. Look at how gingerly we deal with Pakistan, even though the ISI and other hardline elements are helping the Taliban kill our soldiers in Kandahar. Even if Iran was stupid enough to use it on Israel, Israel has somewhere between 100-300 weapons of their own, and one attack by Iran (with its one or two nukes) would the entire country into radioactive glass. They may hate Irsael, but I don't see the whole country going suicidal just to wipe out Tel Aviv.
I really don't like the idea of Iran with nukes, but don't see what can be done about it, short of an invasion, and the West's troops are already spread too thin other Middle East hotspots.
While I don't agree with Andy, it should be no surprise that any nation wants the bomb. Once you have it, you get respect, no matter how batshit crazy your leader is.
