Really, any Vimy memorial should be in a province that had a major role in the battle. That wouldn't be in Quebec.
I don't want this to be a Quebec bash but other things were going on in that province in 1917 as the mostly Anglo CEF (in fact mostly ex-pat British and Irish immigrants in the CEF) went over the top.
If we are to remember it should be framed in reality of 1917. Zombies, conscription and the very active and mainstream opposition Quebeckers had to the Great War should be taken into account when a site for a Canadian replica of any part of the Vimy Memorial is looked at.
History should not be re-written because it’s a bit awkward to revisit with 2010 values.
