A lot of people adopt from overseas. Cambodia, China, Colombia (and those are just adoptions by people that I know personally.)
I dont know how it works here, but in The Netherlands, adoption from a foreign country is easier and takes less time. It already takes years there to adopt...

Then, look at Madonna or Angie Jolie. They both adopted from overseas.

Madonna and Angelina both collect kids like people collect cats... overseas adoptions are easier because there is less beurocracy. I have friends who waited for years to adopt here.. finally they adopted two children from Romania.. they have had no problems to date. They were 9 mos old when they got them. They are now 14 and doing well in school and are just like any other kids.
