A friend of mine called me earlier this morning asking about the weather. She was in Grand Cache, it was snowing like hell, and she was wondering if she should make a run for here, or stay another day.
It missed us, fortunately. Got cold, grey and dreary, didn't warm up at all, and a bit of wind, but that was about it.
Power went off here at 5:30 so we went out at about 7 to see if we could get supper some place, the town looked like a ghost town. Then all the traffic from the highway starts looking for a place to stay for the night, with all the cars parked around the front doors of the motels I don't think the staff knew how to book rooms without a computer.
Most probably can't anymore.
Funny how much you take for granted until you don't have power. That's partly why we always have propane for the BBQ.
