$1:
White says the plan will force Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to monitor customers’ Web surfing and turn a usage report over to the feds at the end of the year for taxation.

I'd say this 'tax' is more about your government modeling itself after ours and deciding to start watching you people more closely. Seems your government doesn't trust you with guns OR computers.

Which reminds me, typewriters were more tightly regulated in Nazi Germany than were guns.

Don't give them any ideas for a new tax, they might take you up on it.

Kidding aside: Were typewriters more regulated than Weapons in Nazi Germany? Interesting.

Actually, yes they were.

Typewriters were registered and a sample of type had to be submitted to the police for forensic purposes. Possession of an unregistered typewriter was a crime.

In contrast, while firearms were restricted, ballistics were not registered with the police so, therefore, typewriters were subject to stricter controls than were firearms.

Yeah it was, an I had customers calling in all day thinking it was for real and what am "I" going to do about it?
Yeah I'll just add that to the list.
Look after every customers computer and fix them free.
Make sure their kids do their homework and hubby isn't surfing porn.
Pay a fee to guys who's wives run away with someone they met on Facebook.
Keep track of all their MSN passwords.
Call Telus and let them know when their customers are having problems.
Return every phone call promptly to tell them what hours we're open.
Lobby the politicians they vote for.

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
Bart.. I'm not sure if you know this.

It was an April Fools joke.

No one down here would think so. They're proposing tax after tax and tax on tax down here these days.

No kidding, the City of Sacramento is considering a sales tax on building permits...which are themselves a tax.
