BartSimpson BartSimpson:
You were a pshrink? I'd expect someone a little more Zen-like as a psychologist. I was expecting you to say you had been a prison guard or perhaps staff at a mental institution. No offense, mind you, it's just you're rather adamant about your opinions and that is a tad unuaual in my experience with people in your profession.

I also have my MD. I beg to differ that my profession is typically more "Zen-like", but that of course begs the question of how much "experience" do you have with people in my profession?

KInda ironic that the press has NO problem labeling them as "Christian" and yet when Hasan did his thing at Ft. Hood, boy oh boy the press were VERY careful to not use the term "muslim".

Having said that, even if they refer to themsleves as Christians cuz they have the "Book" don't make them Christians anymore than if I filled my study with nothing but medical or legal texts and called myself a doctor or lawyer.

I'm not arguing a point about organized religion either, trust me. I left the church 27 years ago when I was 16. What I didn't do, was drop my faith.

The problem is, because I consider myself to be a Christian, I sometimes have to defend my personal beliefs because of idiots like this wonderful family, Irreverand Phelps and the rest, that I feel, do NOT represent the teachings of Christ in the slightest bit.
There is one particular Bible verse that seems to get missed, even by many so-called Christians,
"Hate the sin, but love the sinner." I'll admit, I have a hard time with that one sometimes too. Phelps is one I developed a hate on for, for over 20 years now

These fools from Michigan(whom I hope get the book thrown at them for conspiring to commit acts of terrorism ie:treason) were/are NOTHING like the people from ALL the various churches I went to throughout Ontario and in Winnipeg and Edmonton.
I guess the difference is, I'm not blinded by religion. I'm quite willing to call a turd a turd regardless of what religion they want to paint themslevs as. And this particular "family" should be sterilized if they're not gonna rot in prison for the rest of their natural lives, so they can't keep polluting the gene pool.
You should see the rants I've made about the Catholic Church  Not against Catholics in general necessarily but against the church's hierarchy and the way it conducts its "business".
And just so ya know poquas, just cuz someone calls themselves a Christian while they commit or conspire to commit horrible acts doesn't mean I'm not gonna shit all over 'em and hope the best for 'em

I've been screened for PTSD more times than I care to recall.

Edit: I've found it curious that military psychologists say you're 'well adjusted' if you are not necessarily bothered by your duties while a civilian psychologist will call you a 'sociopath' for the exact same thing.

As with any fundamentalist group, if they consider themselves Christian, and they think they're in the service of their lord, that's all that matters. It's no different than a fundamentalist Muslim.

The attempt to diminish their level "Christianity" because of the way they spell or that they’re luddites with respect to web services is crazy. They’re terrorists. Just the same as the “other” guys.

If one calls you a sociopath and the other doesn't, you’d be a sociopath. The evaluation for a disorder like that (although there are degrees) is pretty cut and dried and it indicates the military evaluator isn’t doing their job.

To be a good psychiatrist or psychologist, it requires a mental detachment and an ability to compartmentalize the things you see and hear that most people are incapable of. The other requirement is the ability is to view with complete objectivity. All that said, we still have our own opinions about everything, and I’m proof of that. Total anonymity is the only thing that allows me completely honest.

Anyone esle hearing banjo music?

David Brian Stone (top right) said that t5he killings "would intimidate and demoralize law enforcement diminishing their ranks and rendering them ineffective."

Yeah bombing a bunch of cops at a funeral would demoralize them. Surrrrre.

A. Noting that when someone who is allegedly Christian fails to properly spell the name of Christ is the same as saying it is suspect when someone who purports to be Canadian spells the name of a certain hockey team as the "Maple Leaves".

B. Fundamentalist Christians have issues with GoDaddy because of the content of their ads. It is either a gross oversight on the part of the group or it is that they really aren't as fundie as they are being presented.

C. They're accused of being terrorists. Bear in mind they've committed no acts of terror. There's a Muslim group from New Jersey that was accused of the same kind of thing...

and, so far, after two years of hearings and pre-trial the government has only been able to prove that these were a bunch of guys out playing paint ball in the woods. Forgive me if I expect much the same in this case.

Given this, what do they call someone who repeatedly provokes a sociopath?

No, it means that the differences between military and civilian practice are significant. What can appear to be sociopathy in civilian practice is in military practice a recognition of individuals who do not evidence general adaptation syndrome. But hey, what do I know?

Yet on this site you elect to be significantly biased in your opinions, you pursue people to engage them and provoke them, and you evidence none of the detachment and compartmentalization you supposedly developed in your trade.

What happened? You retired and said "F*** it, I'm going to be an existentialist now."?

They're either guilty of being the worst terrorists ever or else they're guilty of being the easiest people to frame.

So you're an apologist only for the white Christian terrorists?
