andyt andyt:
I think the problem was he was greeting people a little too effusively (either that or just hiding in a corner going "Oh my god, the horror...") Plus he kept frisking people for munchies.

Either that or he was spending more on munchies, using employee credit, than his actual paycheque could cover.

But he's in Wal-Mart, they sell that crap,

Also, I don't get the second joke. I've been pretty freaked out by the sound of cars, but that's it. [huh]

He was frisking people for munchies because he had them.

As for the horror, have you seen some of the people that use Walmart? Especially in the US?

You can bet that Walmart, after initially refusing to sell legal MJ perscriptions on "mopral" grounds, will eventually be one of the world's biggest pushers. Give it 5-10 years. You'll be buying your weed at the pharmacy...whatever your not growing in your back yard that is.

I hope this guys gets a billion dollars from those fucking retards.

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
I don't know what will happen here. Likely Wal-Mart will lose this one.

I just don't really see how they could win.

Easy, marijuana is illegal under Federal Law. In short, Wal Mart wins this one before it even starts.

You need some time in the military. Seriously, I've slept through Scud attacks, mortar attacks, hurricanes, rap music, low flying supersonic jets, and drill instructors. The sound of cars will be a freaking lullaby to you after a few years in the service.

I spent a good part of my life living within blocks of railway marshalling yards. Those booms sure make ya jump until you get used to them. Especially at night when yer sleeping, or trying to

I'd live in the US now if it wasn't for drug screening. I had a job offer from an American company, and a drug screening was a final component of the interview process. I said that I wasn't really intersted in a drug screening (you had to pee in a vial in front of a stranger), to which they responded that it was mandatory. I said that I would never show up for work under the influence of any drug. The guy said--and he did actually seem apologetic about it at this point--that I had to do it anyways. I said I didn't want to work for a company where my word was no good, and that was that. I said "thanks but no thanks."

They really didn't know what to make of that--nobody had done that before. I was surprised that no one had done it before.

See? This anti-marijuana law makes NO sense. Let's remove Wal-Mart from the picture and use ANY employer that practises this, which I suspect is a good majority in the US.
A man goes home from work and smokes a joint or 2 over the evening. He goes to bed at a decent time so he's well rested for work the next day, gets a piss test when he walks into work and "BAM" he's now no longer a productive member of society. As a matter of fact, this stupid law has now just made him a drain on society depending on any intent to prosecute him for possession. Even at that, he now will have a HARD time finding a job, can't qualify for gov't assistence because of "drug use" and becomes a further burden. But man, let that same guy drink a case of beer a night and walk in a little slung-under(not as bad as a hangover ) he's cool  If the person is obviously under the influence while at work then sure, fire his ass. Work is work. Same goes for anything that's legal too.

Rap music?? 8O 8O I'd be in therapy for PTSD. It used to be the silence that woke me up, when I was ashore. On Kinmen there was always the sound of artillery/armour/rifle practise, with the windows vibrating at 6AM. In Somalia we had the sound of sporatic light gunfire, at varying distances interspersed with heavier weapons fire...often after a celebration, but not always. City sounds almost never wake me up. Only the building swaying will wake me up...and not always all the way.

Girl I dated was interviewed in Detroit and talked her wsy past the drug test. She asked the interviewer Are you serious? Do you think someone on drugs could even do this job?
Then he offered to start her at $4.35 an hour. She said someone would have to be on drugs to change their citizenship, move and start for half of what they could get on fucking welfare. You gonna refund my plane fare?
