Freakinoldguy Freakinoldguy:
I really don't think they're attempting to screw anybody up by making noise when they're comming out of the hack.

I'd love to be able to agree with you, but they weren't doing the same during the Canadian skips delivery. And they did it for the clutch shots, the ones that decided the game.

Mean spirited plain and simple. Not in the spirit of the Olympics IMO.

I'd be useless. I've always judged my weight by the sound of the pebble under the rock. The timing thing never worked for me.

Looks like curling is evolving into something more exciting, what I'd like to see next is a box of rattle snakes thrown into the game, after the delivery of course.

How to make sports more exciting!

I'm thinking random obstacles that pop out on the bobsled course or landmines in the downhill! 8O

I've always said that darts should be a contact sport.

Deal with it lady. If curling is considered a "game" then we should start allowing shuffle board, bowling, and poker into the Olympics too.

Because you might wake up the players.

I'm curious as to why we must be silent during curling and golf but in any other sport we can scream our heads off and the athletes don't whine. Maybe it's time to remove these "sports" so they won't be offended when fans become boisterous.

Don't forget tennis and bowling. Darts and billiards are others where the spectators are expected to be quiet when a competitor is shooting, swinging, or throwing. Especially at the pro level.
It seems it's more of the single competitor sports that have this etiquette, so why curling is included I have no idea.
A couple hundred fans(at best) intentionally making noise during the other team's shot is nothing compared to trying to call an audible with 50-60k fans yelling their fool heads off.
It's called the Home Team Advantage. Every other team sport is affected by it to some degree or another, why should curling be any different?

Well a good looking woman yelling "hurry, hurry hard" is kinda sexy, and a lot of the women skips do seem to be sexy in that MILFy sort of way. They could come-around me any time.

Maybe it's time to remove those 'fans' who are apparently deliberately trying to mess up the foreign competition. If the Canadian fans are silent when the Canadian team comes up to play then it would be fair of the IOC to let the Swedes play again and this time to be able to do so without any fans whatsoever in the stands.

The called "home field advantage". Ever watched a football game? Should they make the fans be quiet while the visiting quarterback is over centre? Of course it's not fair. Tough shit.

And why should that matter? I'd argue noise in football is a greater distraction on the players than in curling.
