It is to compensate the foster parent for money lost by filling a room that could be rented, food, heat for the room, gas to take him back and forth, etc etc.

At that, it is often too little. Being the sole resident does not mean he runs the place - I knew one kid in a hospital setting that was closing down who was the sole resident of a multi-million $ facility with his own gym for awhile. Is this news?

I just don't believe he gets $150 for personal spending. This is so far out of whack I automatically assume the media reporter got it wrong or lied. After 30 years in the business, this is too far out to be real.

The boy, who has the latest computer games, receives his allowance in addition to having his meals prepared and laundry washed, sources said.

What part of this is unclear to you?

Yeah but it don't sound like he's in a foster home. The article makes it look like he lives in a home owned and operated by CAS and is "babysat" by CAS employees.

IF, that is the case, it goes beyond the realms of disgusting.
IF, he is indeed being looked after in an actual foster home, then I'd agree with you and also go so far as to say $600 isn't very much in the way of compensation to the foster parents.

He is NOT IN FOSTER CARE. Unless all foster parents are educated to be taking care of juvenile criminals?

I aplaud foster parents. But this kid is not in foster care. End of Foster Care discussion.
