With aftermarket add-ons more horsepower cah be sqeezed out of a Chevy small block V8 then most other small blocks... A small block Chevy can rival some big blocks for hp...

I like Toyota Trucks, if it wasn't for Toyota, my full size Chevy would be the biggest gas guzzler on the market. :wink:


My Tundra's 4.6L is a hell of a lot better than my old Chev's 305.


I dont think the chev 305 is a good comparison, it suffered from a soft cam that would allow the engine to commonly go out of it's designed performance.

Yeah I concur... Give me a Chevy 302, 327 or 4 bolt main 350 over the 305. Hell I'll even take a 307...

A friend of mine dropped a Chevy 302 into a '56 Chevy 4 door station wagon... What a screaming...high reving machine....

IMO, The reason why Chev sold so many 350s when Ford was already selling lots of 302s, is the chevy 305 had a soft cam problem. Besides, the 350 was a nice engine
