Beautiful pics wildrosegirl!!! Thanks for sharing those. Yogi Yogi: I've got a lot of pics from around the Yukon. Dredge #4, The Dome, All around Dawson, etc. Not digital but might scan ok. Sitting here looking at the gold pans I used on Bonanza Creek, just a few miles out of Googieville. I'd love to see those if you can post them. To see northern B.C. and the territories has always appealed to me much more than to go to Mexico or somewhere like that. I just have to find someone who also wants to go there, most people I know only seem to want to go to hot, humid, crowded, touristy places south of here .

My folks did the Alaskan Highway last summer, loved it. They panned for gold, slept in their camper every night, and took multiple awsome pictures. They will be doing it again, hopefully I can join them. Wonderful pics on this thread, love it!

I lived in Ft. Nelson for several years and loved it. 3 hours up to Liard Hot Springs, 1 day to Watson Lake, 2 to Whitehorse and 3 to Alaska.

If you go to Auyuittuq; Vuntut, Qilalukat or my favourite, Ivvavik National parks - you might be the only human there. You are in a place that few people will ever be. No phones, no cars, no Hondas with the lawnmower transplant and the *thmup* *thump* *thump* you can hear blocks away. No electronics. Silence. Wind. Birds. Arctic foxes stealing your fish from right under you. It's heaven!

So, this would be at least a 2 week trip? Whew, that's quite a bit of time to try to get off work.

Aside from New Zealand, we have no desire whatsoever to leave our little "playground" up here. Northern BC, the Yukon, NWT, and the Rockies and the Cariboo regions will be where we spend our vacations. I'm with you - southern holidays suck. I hate flying, heat and crowds.
