But the 25-year-old was held for questioning — something she said made her believe she was targeted because she was wearing a head scarf and is a Muslim woman.

Thank your fellow Muslims for that. You know? The ones that tend to blow themselves and others up.

She'll sue Canada for allowing this ordeal to happen to her and not doing enough to help her. She won't sue the US 'cause she knows she'll be told to go piss up a rope. But we're an easy touch. Just go to the Human Rights Commission, where truth is no defense and claim hurt feelings. Should be good for a few thou anyway.

It wasnt the canadians that didnt allow her to enter the US. Not much the HRC can do.

Logic has never entered into these lawsuits. Her feelings were hurt. Canada must pay and cringe.

I saw this on the CBC website yesterday.

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/nova-scotia/st ... ofile.html

It was interesting on the amount of comments that said that this woman was treated no differently than non-muslims.

She had a one way ticket. The Yanks don't like that.

She only rented in NS. Never good when you put it with a one-way ticket.

Entering the US is a privilege. She seems to think it's her right to go to the US. Apparently the Yanks thought otherwise, it being their country she lost.

Man, you know how many white Canadians I know that were denied entry for those very things? On one of my trips to the US my car was loaded up for a 2 month trip. They were sure I was trying to sneak in and told me to bring proof I plan on returning to Canada. I had to drive back home to grab my mortgage papers and bank statement just to prove I was returning. I'll bet if I was a renter I'd have been denied entry though.

Try crossing the line with a surfboard strapped to the roof of a car...immediately hauled in and questioned, but whatever I am used to it...they just think I am a pot smoking hippy surfer....how wrong I aint no hippy

I was detained for about an hour because of a oneway ticket but I expected that...just gotta be prepared.

I dont think the flq ever tried to bomb a plane or plant a bomb in order to cause massive civilians casualities for that matter.

And the flq was back in the 60s, welcome in 2010.

Irrelevent. It's a terrorist organization. Following some of the logic by people on this thread, then all you frenchies outghta be booted out for the actions of a few!

 Yeah... noobs...

Obviously, she was planning to immigrate without permission and the Customs boys did their job. Next time around she needs to ditch the head scarf and just drive across the border saying she's just going to do some shopping in the US to save on Canadian taxes and then buy a tank of cheap gas/petrol...I doubt anyone would question that.

I used to get real problems at the NY border crossings until I got my citizenship. I spent many an hour at Lewiston waiting to be grilled by the Yanks while my mates sat in the car cursing me being a Brit.
