It begs the question. What stopped him from taking out his own life insurance? Isn't it a personal responsiblity to do this? My employer doesn't give me free insurance. I have my own.

Who knows? That wasn't the part of the story that interested me. It was more the whole taking out a policy on someone and then working them to death thing.

Come on Zip, it's just to 'spinned' to take on face value.

Maybe Wal-Mart have insurance for key personnel loss?

The point here is that a media outlet is pedalling the 'whipped to death and the wife and kids get nothing' angle.

Really baseless and using a tragic incident to further an agenda. The cold hard truth is to provide for our families we should look at life insurance. Don’t expect our employers to do it for us. Our salary providers are not social insurance.

Wal-Mart do it for their bottom line, is that a bad thing?

Well, if you're of the opinion that anything that makes money is an unmitigated good, then, no, it's not a bad thing. But if you think it's a bad thing to work someone to death adn colelct a policy on them then yes.

And this agenda--can I see it please. People keep referring to it. I guess the wife has a copy of the agenda. And the media is in on it. And the court too, since they found in her favour. Do you have a copy? I should get one since I'm furthering it.

proof that Walmart doesn't know how to make enough profit unless they take it out of the pockets of their employees.

Ever seen Wal-Mart sales and profit numbers?

Guess not.

Employees at Wal-Mart are entitled to nothing but a safe environment to work and a paycheck.

Want more money and more security? Stay in school and don't work at Wal-Mart.

The end.

not quite.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world’s largest retailer, plans to award $2 billion in extra compensation to about 1 million U.S. hourly workers this year after sales jumped in the recession.

The amount of the bonuses, profit sharing, discounts and 401(k) and stock-plan contributions being given to employees compares with the $1.8 billion Wal-Mart distributed last year. Payments to employees include $933.6 million in bonuses today, spokeswoman Daphne Davis Moore said by phone.

Zip, I do know what you are saying. I come from public housing, as in poor background.

But hey, Wal-Mart, it's not a mystery how they make money. I left that minimum wage upbringing.

It is allowed to move on and up you know.

I can't wait to see if the mom & pop outfits hire up the 190 people that lost their jobs. After all, that's the whole argument of the anti-Walmart croud, isn't it?

Nah, its just a tad pathetic really. A flag is honoured by the people who carry it into those places most of us don't go to.
Mr C hasn't done that.

BS.

Nobody carries the Canadian flag more prominently then Mr C. That you disagree with his political position clouds your judgement.

I often disagree with you but do I question your patriotism? You disagree with me (often) but you have never questioned mine either.
