Sure because Harper isn't going to be held accountable for position right?

Iggy should reject this because that's what the voters want. Who cares what the provincial Libs think, Iggy is federal.

If he kills this, and it looks like that option is being taken away, then he looks good to the voters. Harper is the guy trying to bring it in.

Actually the respective premiers are trying to bring it in. Harper is assisting and he loses lots of points with me for it. That being said, Iggy and the Liberals have the power to kill this, which would be very popular amongst voters and has the potential to bring him some big political points. He'll look like mud to Campbell and McGinty, but since Campbell is a lying fucktard anyway, it shouldn't be that much of a loss.

I don't know why they would bother trying to say they are against the HST.

Harper made it necessary to offset his tax cuts to the rich which left us in a 60 billion dollar hole. We'll never ever climb out of it without tax revenue or program cuts.

Either way, as Liberals we should be laughing and saying "I told you so".

Dont blame Harper for bringing it in, it's a nasty tax. I'm sure just a few people in Ontario & BC are glad its being brought to the highest level.

Who doe,s Flaherty work for and he is the one along with big business pushing it

Now, since the HST will include more products and, therefore, generate more revenue, the government COULD reduce the tax rate a per cent

lol, that simple idea is missed in the whole public discussion about the tax

Possibly because the government hasn't suggested it?

The Liberals like to take credit for it.

""I'm not waffling. I'm skating," said Rae, MP for Toronto Centre and a former premier of Ontario, acknowledging that federal Liberals were the ones who began the push for harmonized sales taxes when they were in power. But the potential for voters to punish politicians over the HST – as well as the Liberals' bid to present it as a federal Conservative idea – is making the official Opposition skittish

Hey Ken! I thought all you Libs had given up! Nice stuff you guys did on the 'Afghan prisoner torture' thingy.

The Liberals. Making the Tories look good since 2005.
