2Cdo 2Cdo: Brenda Brenda: mikewood86 mikewood86: I know this has nothing to do with WSIB (Workplace Safety Insurance Board), but how does their saying go...
There are no accidents. You obviously don't have children. If you had, you wouldnt say shit like this. You claiming mom threw him? I do have children and I think the mom showed poor judgement standing where she did. That being said, I do feel for her as it is a shitty way to learn a lesson. As far as the "no accidents" statement, I would say that 90% or more of "accidents" are preventable. Including those involving children. So your children never wanted to be lifted to watch over a railing?

Guy_Fawkes Guy_Fawkes: Why would you hold your child so close to a ledge? Good question.

And of course accidents are avoidable/preventable. The wouldn't be called accidents if the weren't. Doesn't mean that EVERY damned thing (incident/accident) doesn't happen. Sometimes, shit just does. This is a typical one. Yes, she was definitely in the wrong place at the wrong time. If they didn't go on holidays, the kid would still be alive. Hell, if her mom and dad never had met, she wouldn't have had been there. ACCIDENTS FUCKING HAPPEN. Get off your high horse. Geesh.

Holy confrontational, why are you taking this so personal? I forgot you were awarded mom of the year and therefore must know all. And I refuse to chalk it up to "shit just happens" or a "typical one" when talking about this. Not in the case where a child plummets to their death, dozens of people witness it and receive trauma counselling, and parents are left to live with that burden for the rest of their lives. When a kid wets the bed, that is an accident. When a kid falls 60+ feet to their death, that IS NOT an accident, it's a tragedy and totally preventable.

Yeah, We will meet when you have kids yourself, who make moves you absolutely do not expect at moment you do not expect them. Like running across a street when YOU just happen to drive there and you drive over your own child. But hey, totally preventable, eh? God We agree on one part. A TRAGEDY. Don't try to sweeten it up with things like: huh, she could have prevented it, tough luck. "Accidents don't happen" my ass.

Hmm, maybe since my parents had a better handle of me, I was taught to not play in the street, look both ways before crossing, don't play behind cars etc etc etc, and I wasn't exactly shackled to my parents hip all the time either.
PRO-ACTIVE AND PREVENTATIVE MEASURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Most parents (probably you) don't have a decent enough handle on their kids nowadays, but I'm not saying this is entirely the parents fault either. Was the railing too short, were there signs up and all that jazz.
Maybe since I work for a company that aims to have 0 accidents annually I'm a little one minded here, but is that such a bad thing in this case?

Brenda Brenda: Hey you're the one making up scenarios about playing in the street, clearly not referring to a 2 year old like in the story. Nice try moron. And hey, no problem on that insult, just thought I would dish some back your way since you went mom of the year on me. Never did I say I knew everything about raising a kid. Yet post after post you are putting words in my mouth and making these wild claims about my statements.
