No ammount of reasoning, justifying, explaining or anything else could make me believe that the tasering of a ten year old was warrented.
Fire and charge the officer, take the kid away from her obviously incapable mother and give her to her father.

Out of line both of you. What this cop did (justified or not and I'd say not) doesn't equate to all cops doing it any more then what this mother did means all parents would have done it.

True, but the RCMP quip was kind of wry given they like to electrofry Polish guys at the Van airport.

You can't spank your kids. But if you'll be need to do that, just ask an assistance from the police.

Far to often people on these forums equate the actions of one mental midget with the entire group.

Well ya see the problem is that its not "one mental midget" it one every other day or week.

$1:
The child was “violently kicking and verbally combative” when Bradshaw tried to take her into custody, and she kicked him in the groin. So he delivered “a very brief drive stun to her back,” the report said.

What the...? Why are you taking an 10 year old girl into custody for not wanting to take a bath? Why would a mom give an okay to taser their child? Why would a cop actually do it?

$1:
...police were called to the Ozark home...

Ah, okay. Enough said.

And keep in mind folks, this is a region in the US where the population thinks the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is a chest full of party supplies for the weekend.

I wouldn't be inclined to respond to this, as your disike for authority is well stated and known to the community here, but compare our Poilce to the US and than take both and compare them to say Iran or China where I'm sure daily beatings are the norm.
Fact is that for the most part cops here are accountable to the public for what they do, if the opposite were true we would never have even known about the cases going on now.
The RCMP have issues sure, thats exactly why the call has gone out for a seperate entity to investigate them when things happen.

It's no secret the cops can and will protect each other, it's no secret that yes shady things do happen and yes sometimes they get covered up, but take the high road and admit that whatever bad experience you went through is NOT the approved standard.

I can relate to you AC, I've had my run ins with the law, been roughed up on the way to lockup too, on the other hand, I've watched a cop pull a 5 year old little girl out of a burning car as well.
My only real beef with the police is they're always around when you don't need them and never around when you do.
