I just give the shot to the highest risk people.. and actually we ran out yesterday. The handling of this vaccine was so frigged up and there is so much confusion about it that doctors refused to get involved.. its nuts! The government has been talking about this pandemic for over 2 yrs .. so why not enough for everyone? We are in a border town and we heard last week that people from the US were coming here and getting the shot..then they started asking for health cards.

And for the record I don't discuss politics or religion or personal info with my clients.

Sounds like Ontario is really fucked up. Other than the long lines out here nobody has been turned away yet. The Alberta government will purchase enough H1n1 and seasonal vaccine for every Albertan.

All of the local health units are overwhelmed with people wanting the shot and can't handle the load. Seem the only city who has a handle on it is Sault Ste. Marie with a population of 80,000. Seems their district health unit organized much better and uses appointments for injections. CTV news reported on this last night.

Considering this is the biggest program of it's kind in canadian, maybe world, history I think it's gone relatively smooth. Anyone who thought that the whole thing would go off without a hitch needs to stop with the drugs.

As far as the liberal attempts to blame harper... even Jack Layton couldn't bring himself to sink that low.

Liberals fanning the flames of stupidity. It's a provincial jurisdiction to administer the shots , If the Ontario health board is too fucked up to do it that's McGuilty's fault.

Talk about stupidity.. its the feds who purchased the vaccine and they were responsible for shipping it to the provinces.. another tory fuck up .. big time

Yea, the Feds own and run Glaxo-Smith-Kline. They purposely made sure the vaccine production couldn't meet media hysteria levels and the mob they whipped up's wants.

No wonder the Libs are sinking rapidly if this is the continuing message.

I've been on the H1N1 org since Wednesday. The media are the enemy on this and now the Libs. Great.

I don't see the big deal. I survived the Swine flu. Sure I infected half of the University of Windsor, plus my old high school after getting my brother sick over Thanksgiving, but I survived. Heh.

For once, I'll do my anti-liberal impression.

The delay is everywhere, Canada, USA, other countries and the southern hemisphere didn't have any vaccine during their flu season. The vaccine was produced late for reasons I won't go into here and even then, not fully tested.

Besides that, government, doctors and the media did a great job in creating the demand by convincing a large part of the population that they would die if they didn't get the vaccine.

That's just it. They scare the public then act surprised when a frightened public arrives in droves for the untested miracle vaccine.

It's 'win-win' for the media.

Scare everybody, sell more papers and TV ad space, report more on the line-ups/lack of vaccine.

I heard at the radio that since the virus has a bird "section" in it and that the vaccine is create in eggs, producers of the vaccine said they were not able to create as many quantity they first thought because the egg dies/gets infected. Something like that.

I doubt that's Harer's fault if there is a bird section in the virus :P

The only I read about that is that people with a severe allergy (how severe, I don't know) to eggs cannot get the vaccine.

What I mean is that when they are growing the virus in eggs, the eggs are infected and die since the virus has a bird section that can infect it. So they have to do (X things I don't know) so that the eggs do not die/die less.
