I don't see this as a conflict of interest. It's not like sentators DO anything. If the sentate were a functioning body with an effectual place in the governmental process, then this might be a story. Do we know if Housakos even makes it in to the senate once in a while? Many don't. Accusing a senator of conflict of interest is like trying to blame a ticket-taker at Rogers Centre for a Jays' loss. They each have about equal impact on the activities around them.
